its a .dts mesh with a .dsq sequence.. so yeah its a TGE skeleton. I was reading somewhere about .cfg's and whatever.. but I haven't got that far yet. It plays in showtool tho :D

Yeah it's.

Not sure about Donation, Ask cog. I'm sure he need someone to bring him coffee and clean the desk after he ate his cheesburgers.

That's a good start there. Just remember that when running and walking, even with a weapon in hands, the arms move in the opposite direction of the legs. So when left leg moves forward, left arm moves backwards. Offset the arm keys a bit with this in mind, and it should look right :)

That animation looks better than the animation that we have in our infantry simulator here at work. Our animation makes soldiers look like those kids that you knew growing up who kicked themselves in the ass when they ran!

Hehe. I wouldn't consider 1 through 3 simulators in the same sense as #4. While there are a lot of simular things, there are things that #4 has to able to do stuff that games don't.

Graphic engine and networking are similar, though there is some networking stuff that is based on mil simulation specs. Add on top of that interoperability with other simulators (other types aircraft, helo, amphib, etc..), other software that reads/sends PDUs and fields automated red forces (similar to game NPCs) into the simulation while recording the whole thing, and scenario creation.

Don't get me wrong, PS has a lot in common to a simulation as far as games have progressed. It does things better than simulations and some things it doesn't. I can't heal myself in our simulator or repair/ mount and use a vehicle. But image the ability to record a battle and beable to replay it from any angle, any side as a tool to see what went wrong and where you could improve. I believe something like this came with BF2.

The lines are starting to blur between the two though. A lot of the game companies are seeking money from DoD to develop their game by developing something for DoD to get it off the ground then modding it to a releasable game to the public. An example of this is Full Spectrum Warrior and Real War (original game).

I'd say the pistol might not be moving enough for that much of an all out run. Otherwise looks good. Is NOT going to be easy to aim arms fully extended at a full tilt run.
