Again, an idea that just popped into my head while bored. (this time after a math test) Was empire specific CQC HAXes.

They all have a berzerker mode which operates like a medkit, but in reverse, it has a cooldown timer and a limetid number of times it can be used. It makes all player models appear as your most killed (ie hated) empire, even freindlies. All names are taken away and greif (or our equivalent) indicators are removed. The berzerker mode would make them faster, do more damage and take damage at a constant rate. It also would make the hud blurry and colorshift everything with a screaming sound in the background like the DOOM III berzerker power up.

Onto the HAXes themselves

they would have less armor than a regular HAX, but faster movment speed.

The empires would have different designs, i thought about them based upon the whole theme of the weapons thus far, and just in my personal opinion of the weapons.

Vachir:
flail and sheild, daggers, or claws

Low damage, med range, fast hits
Remnant:
Glave or halberd or warhammer

Longer range, med damge, med speed
Erudites:
Superheated powerfists, or a pnumatic hammer ala unreal tournament

low Range, HIGH damge, extremely slow hits.

oh wow.. hell no
Couple of things. AI Haxes should always move slower than infantry. A warping AI hax would make me cry. Hitting something with a melee weapon in moderate lag is near impossible.
Bezerker mode in doom is sweet because you're mindlessly mowing down waves of monsters. Now how would you balance something like that?

Apart from the fantastic image of a 40k Terminator with Lightning Claws going bersek, I don't think it's a good idea.

But that would be such a sweet look on everyone's face nearby... 'Oh... shit. Back! BACK!'

Not that it would be faster than infantry, just faster than other HAXes

Large rampaging death machines... Hmmmm....

What MIGHT be possible is a Psionics Skill that produces the effect, but does not work in HAX armor.

Understand... HAXs are a LOT more powerfull than MAX suits. They are difficult to use, expensive to cert, and do an amount of damage appropriate to those considerations. The inspiration for HAX behavior is the "MCG Trooper" from the 3DSMARK5 demo.

While I like the blood-raged berserker idea, I just don't think that it's appropriate for HAXs.
