how much will game cost? monthly or a one time hit? download or cdrom or both?
btw, will there be a site for game data replication, i.e, myplanetside.com and what will the backend consist of mysql on linux redhat 8?
multiple servers per coast, region?
Player authentication and billing is also being addressed?
I know these questions seem in the distant but I want you too make money as well as have fun!
btw, sorry if these were already addressed but I couldn't really find these answers via Search util.

I know Cog has already coded a login server so the sync to the billing is relativley easy. As for the servers and distribution that's more on the hands of whoever actually has the capital to publish the game.

Cost: IF we distribute it ourselves there will be a cost, but we aren't SOE so it will be less than PlanetSide
Web-based Stats: Absolutely. You cannot make an MMO without it anymore. Furthermore, I'd like to make the stat pages XML/XSL so people dont repeatedly abuse my webserver scraping stats from HTML pages like planetsidestats.info does to SOE.
MySQL/Linux: Yes. We dont have any money so it's the free stuff for now. MySQL has some drawbacks technically, but by the time those become an issue we've got so many players using the database that we are making enough money to afford something else.
Multi-costal servers: Aftiel fielded this
Auth and Billing: Aftiel fielded this as well, but I'll add that it's a login/patch server, not just a login server.
