Let the writers and the readers read;

How about finding an experienced writer (with a science fiction background) write and develop a plot? That is some of the cheesy plot problems with PS, devs are writing the plots. It is like the artists, he is given some ideas and constraints and then the idea is developed from there. That is what makes some of the movie based games and other RPGs so rich, a real writer.

Lol, we've got some better writers here, i'm sure. Just because you're not popular, mainstream, or famous doesn't mean you're less talented.

Agreed, Tigek. We have plenty of people with vision, and that is all we need for plot. If we want to really write it out in stories, then a writing background will help with the polish of it.

Hell, even reading a lot of sci-fi will give people brilliant ideas for a world. Like Hyperion, The Saga of Seven Suns and The Dispossessed for examples. All have multiple groups of people, or societies. All have a history or current conflict. I'm sure there's hundreds out there we could mulligan stew into a giant, yet fantastic idea.

But I think, with the background we have already developed, it wouldn't take a large deal of detail to give it everything it needs.

That was my thought. Have a real writer take the ideas and filter them into one continous idea. It would add a new perpective and polish the ideas. Even if we only used 25% of what the writer created we would be ideas ahead.

As for finding a writer, artist, anybody we need - - - Here is an idea. When I was in school we had a small business come to our design class and we designed a consumer market product for him. Well, universities are always looking for real life projects for students. He paid our group a nominal fee for our design but other groups didn't get paid at all. You might be able to find artists, writers, coders, anything. Even if you posted that you wanted people for a part time job and paid them a nominal amount with a promise of royalities if a profit is shown. But whatever you decide on the financial end, be sure to get a release signed before they complete any work.

Seriously, that's news to me. *I don't recall (and a quick review of the forums confirms) that anyone stepped up and asserted themselves as a writter willing to work on this project, much less submitted samples of their previous work.

I don't think that quite sunk in. Remember his posts asking why anyone had small outfits?And now he's in an outfit with a 69 member limit?That there are a lot of inactive people in?LOL, maybe he realised that DT can do with 10 people what most zergfits do with 50.
