OOOOOOh. In game music ala BF:V WOULD be cool.

Or even working a deal out with something like WinAmp so that it has a built in player.

Oh, and a Radio Station tower that spreads propaganda and plays something like an Internet Radio would be cool. Announces base victories and shit would be badass.

"The Empire has retaken XXX base!" And it starts playing some rocking fucking tunage, that can be set to each player's (character) preference. (Like 4 or 5 different station styles)

Yes, a shitload of coding, but for an example you could use COH's Club system they had. It played JusticeRadio.com in a live stream just like you could from Winamp.

Wouldn't really be shocked if there might be some indie bands and stuff that would even take up having their music in a game for exposure, though there might be some continuity and plot issues with modern rock in a game set in the future on other planets...

I think I could possibly enjoy an in-game front-end for Winamp, or Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org).

Concerning in-game music, I think it should be quite possible to find artists with the right kind of music that would fit the game, who would jump at the opportunity for publicity. Might even regularly update the music in the game.

Though it would probably be a finishing touch type thing as it's possible to keybind stuff to operate your player while ingame. Well, at least it works in PS but not in BF2. Though managing to be more than just a game (an avenue to good music for players, and an avenue to fans for bands) would definitely be cool. Be somewhat of a cultural force too... (great for free advertising and PR) but then again, that would require a decent following to get working that well first. :)

Acutally, I coded a small MP3 player w/ the GUI just to practice. ;) The engine reads wav, mp3, and ogg files natively.

Bandwidth permitting, a live streaming "intergalactic broadcast" that you could listen to in vehicles or in Sanctuary had crossed my mind. :)

ZOMG... Rawking out with our cawks out while rolling an armor column...

<3 this idea even more now that it's possible.
